Blessing of the Backpacks

There are so many feelings associated with the start of a new school year. Some students are over the moon. Others are made nauseous by the thought of a new teacher, class, different schedule, or maybe even a new school. And some kids don’t care all that much one way or another. The same goes for teachers, aides, administrative staff and everyone involved in education.

We invite you to join us to bring the tools of our school year, our backpacks, filled with all of our supplies, and our emotions. Together we will ask God to bless our backpacks, filling us with comfort and encouragement as we begin a new school year.

All students, teachers, counselors, anyone involved in education of any kind, is invited to bring their backpack to worship with them.

Each person will receive a special “backpack tag” reminding them of God’s presence and love.
