This Sunday our youth will be leading worship, from Luke 15:11-32, the story of the prodigal son, and Esther 4:1-4. Communion will be celebrated at both the 9 and 11 am worship services.  They will be sharing with us their experiences on their Mission Trip to Mescalero, New Mexico and to Triennium.

 Our Mission

From its inception, service and mission have been an important part of Grace Presbyterian Church.  A full 10% of our annual budget is set aside to be used in service to others.  The Grace Mission Team strives to serve as Christ taught, to be examples to others in our congregation and community, and to be good stewards of our resources.  Christ commands us to feed the hungry, help the stranger, clothe the naked, and visit the sick and imprisoned.

You will find on this page a list of activities and organizations supported by Grace Presbyterian Church and the Mission Team.  We encourage you to seek God's guidance as you discern where God is calling you to serve. You can volunteer occasionally or regularly, as your schedule permits.  You can work with the Mission Team without being a member of the team-just let us know your ideas or desires. Together, as the body of Christ, we can make a difference in the world.

Cancer Connection (formerly CanCare, Austin)

In partnership with local faith communities and other cancer related organizations, Cancer Connection recruits and trains volunteers who each have had a cancer diagnosis or cared for a family member with cancer.  After extensive training, Cancer Connection volunteers are matched with referrals according to cancer site, age, gender, and family situation.  The volunteers offer free, one-on-one, long-term emotional support to cancer patients and their families.

For more information you may view their web site at CanCare.

Round Rock Area Serving Center

A thrift store accepts donations with the proceeds going toward purchasing food for the pantry.

Volunteers are needed to sort and shelve food, clothing and furniture as well as interview prospective clients.  The agency is supported by local churches, civic groups, businesses, the United Way of Greater Williamson County, and the community of Round Rock.

Angel House - Ministry to the Homeless

Grace reaches out to the homeless population through the ministry of Angel House.

The Soup Kitchen is a human service organization of caring and loving people.  We serve meals on the first Sunday of every odd month. The Soup Kitchen serves the poor who suffer from the lack of basic human needs: material needs, such as food, clothing, and household necessities; psychological needs, such as motivation, self-esteem, and rehabilitation; and social needs, such as support systems and meaningful relationships.  In order to serve as a positive factor healing force in the spirits and lives of needy individuals, the Soup Kitchen strives to provide encouragement, direction, and material assistance to promote growth and wholesome independence with respect and dignity.

The Clothing Closet gives jeans, shirts, jackets, socks, underwear and toiletries to the homeless each Saturday.  Grace staffs the closet on the fourth and fifth Satuerdays of the month from 9-11 am.  We also collect items for the closet.

Angel House is located at 908 E. Cesar Chavez in Austin.
Manos de Cristo

Through a variety of programs and activities, Manos de Cristo, "Hands of Christ", offers helping hands to those in need. It provides critically important services to tens of thousands of people annually in the Greater Austin community. Established and largely supported by faith-based institutions, Manos de Cristo is a holistic ministry that works to meet the physical and spiritual needs of the people it serves.

The congregation of Grace supports Manos de Cristo through monetary donations, volunteers, and by selling tamales each Christmas.
